About
The purpose of this blog to provide a reference to the many stories, printed and posted in the media and other institutional websites, that focus on food security issues .
There are many factors, situations and circumstances that affect global, regional and local food security. In very general terms, these supporting issues tend to coalesce around Energy, Economics and the Environment. That’s a rather simplified description and it can be argued that there are many issues that contribute to food security and food insecurity, those arguments are correct of course. In any event, these three topics will be the primary list of reference categories, with Economics suggesting a larger social category that includes Policy, War and Human induced famine.
Finally, there are always collaborators and contributors in every project. This project would not be possible without the assistance and contributions of:
Craig Gerlach, Phil Loring and Bruce Wright for their regular contributions and Jennifer Moss for actually making it happen. Please stay with us as we continue to improve this site.
Thank you for your patience and interest,
